1.1 The following provisions determine how Vorwerk, LLC (“Vorwerk USA”) and Vorwerk International & Co. KmG, Verenastrasse 39, CH-8832 Wollerau, Schweiz (“Vorwerk International”, both companies together the “Vorwerk Group Companies”) handle information about individuals (“Personal Data”) with regard to the website “Thermo-mix® Recipe Platform” (hereinafter: “Cookidoo®”), the Thermomix® mobile app (here-inafter: “App”), Cookidoo® and the App collectively called (“Platform”) and the “Vor-werk Thermomix®”, a kitchen device with optional Internet connection (hereinafter: “Thermomix®”). Both components of the Platform, Cookidoo® and the App, provide an identical functionality for the same purposes and using the same processing means and modalities; thus, the App and Cookidoo® are treated identically in this Privacy Policy.
2.1 Vorwerk USA is responsible for providing the Platform and processing of Personal Data for related purposes (please see paras. 5.2 – 5.9 for further details).
2.2 Vorwerk International is the service provider of the Platform who delivers and main-tains the IT infrastructure.
2.3 You can access this Privacy Policy at any time within the App, retrieve it from Cookidoo® website at Privacy Policy or, if the Thermomix® is connected with the In-ternet, access it in the Thermomix® in the menu Settings | Privacy | Privacy policy.

Information directly about you: such as your name, surname, salutation (collective-ly called as “Name data”); Email address; Telephone number; Country of residence, postal code, city, street (collectively called as “Address data”); Language; Profile pic-ture or avatar.
Information about your Thermomix® device: such as Thermomix® serial number, Cook-Key® ID, accessories (collectively called as “Device data”); IP Address.
Information about the use of your Thermomix®: such as recipe started, count rec-ipe started, duration, recipe ID, cooked recipes, modes used, number of sessions per week, Usage Box ID (collectively called as “Thermomix® usage data”).
Information about the use of the Platform and your preferences: such as date of account creation (collectively called as “Account data”); bookmarks, recipe ratings, searches (collectively called as “Cookidoo® usage data”); Cooking style, search filter preferences, cooking preferences (collectively called as “Cooking preferences”).
Unique customer identifier assigned by Vorwerk: such as DCID and CDID (collec-tively called as “Customer identifier”).
Information about your purchases of our products and subscriptions: Purchase history, channel, date of purchase (collectively called as “Transactional data”); Sub-scription status, subscription type, subscription history (collectively called as “Sub-scription data”).
Information about the payment method: reference to the payment method, the last four digits of the credit card, card holder name, credit card expiration date (collective-ly called as "Credit card data”); PayPal e-mail address and the billing agreement ID (collectively called as “PayPal data”); account holder name, reference number as-signed by the payment provider Adyen, mandat ID and two letter country code and last two digits from your IBAN (collectively called as “SEPA payment data”).
5.1 Vorwerk USA processes your Personal Data for the following purposes:
I. Processing activities that are based on the performance of a contract
a. Account registration (5.2)
b. Purchase of the Cookidoo® subscription (5.3)
c. Addressing customer requests through customer service support (5.4)
II. Processing activities that are based on compliance with a legal obligation
a. Reporting prohibited content (5.5)
b. Collection of the IP address during purchase of the Cookidoo® sub-scription (5.2)
III. Processing activities are based on the legitimate interest
a. Profile creation to provide better search results (5.6)
b. Ordering ingredients (5.7)

b. Personalisation of content across Vorwerk products and related ser-vices (5.9)
5.2 Account registration
5.2.1 Vorwerk reserves the right to make certain content and functionality available to non-registered users, such as recipe previews. If you decide to browse through rec-ipes without a registered account in a limited preview mode, there is no Personal Data being collected.
5.2.2 Before being able to use the full functionality of the Platform, you have to register a user account. For this purpose, the following data will be processed:
5.2.3 The foregoing data is required to provide some functions, such as: administer the user account, create your own recipes (Created recipes), create custom recipe lists in order to collect, organize and bookmark recipes, create shopping lists, save reci-pe collections created by Vorwerk, plan recipes for a day to cook them (weekly planner), transfer recipes available on your Cookidoo® account to your Thermo-mix®.
5.3 Purchase of the Cookidoo® subscription
5.3.1 When purchasing products or services on the Platform, you will have to submit payment information to allow processing of payments (depending on the payment method, e.g. a credit card number or PayPal). Your payment will be processed via the third-party payment provider Adyen, Simon Carmiggeltstraat 6-50, 011 DJ Am-sterdam, The Netherlands.
5.3.2 To file an invoice, the following data will be requested:
5.3.3 Vorwerk USA is required to adhere to a tax legal obligation to verify customer's country of residence by using the IP address to determine the geographical loca-tion where the customer's device is located.
5.4 Addressing customer requests through customer service support
5.4.1 When contacting customer care, we may collect certain data from you that will de-pend on the type of contact desired and type of requests received, e.g. Name and Address data, Account data, Subscription data, payment data, Device data.
5.4.2 The foregoing data will be used only to fulfil the specific customer request and ad-dress your problems and not used for any other purposes.
5.5 Profile creation to provide better search results
5.5.1 After creating a user account, you may also create your own profile by providing optional information to receive better search results when looking for recipes. The following data is being collected through your profile:
5.6 Ordering ingredients
5.6.1 You may order ingredients from your shopping list, provided that this service is available in your market. Depending on your location and country there are differ-ent retailers available. To determine which service can be offered to you (if any), you need to enter your postal code. Afterwards you can select from a list of availa-ble retailers (if available in your market) from which you would like to order ingredi-ents.
5.6.2 The following data will be used for a one-time processing and will not be saved in a database (unless it is being collected, used or disclosed for another purpose as outlined in this Privacy Policy):
5.6.3 To support us in finding the nearby store, we use a plug in provided by an external partner Whisk (Foodient Ltd. Green Lanes, London, N13 4BS GBR). No Personal Data is being shared with Whisk. Once you choose the shop from the list and follow the shopping process on the external website, Vorwerk is no longer the data con-troller. The data is collected and processed by the external shop.
5.7 Reporting prohibited content
5.7.1 You may report via the flag feature content that is considered as prohibited on Cookidoo® (for more information please see Terms of Services para. 4 Restrictions and Moderation of Content). In order to submit the report, you will be asked to pro-vide your name and e-mail address. You may also decide to submit your report anonymously, without providing name and email address.
5.7.2 After you submit the report, the content of the comment will be manually reviewed by a Vorwerk moderator and afterwards you will be notified of Vorwerk’s decision in respect of the information to which the report relates and Vorwerk will provide in-formation on the possibilities for redress in respect of that decision. In case you have decided to send an anonymous report, you will not receive the notification e-mail from us.
5.7.3 The following data will be processed:
5.8 Marketing communication
5.8.1 In case you would like to receive information about Vorwerk products, e.g., Ther-momix®, and related services, e.g., Cookidoo®, you can find the exact wording of your consent declaration under Account | Data usage.
5.8.2 When agreeing to the marketing consent, the following data will be processed:
5.8.3 The foregoing data is used to analyze of your behaviour and cooking preferences and sending marketing communication about products and services which suits your possible interests (e.g. information on these companies, their products and current offers and surveys).
5.8.4 In case you have given your consent to marketing communication already during the purchasing process of the Thermomix®, you do not need to provide your con-sent again on Cookidoo®, and the status of the consent and the exact wording of your consent declaration is visible also on the Platform under Account | Data us-age.
5.8.5 You can unsubscribe from receiving marketing communication at any time, either by withdrawing your consent on Cookidoo® under Account | Data usage, or by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the end of each marketing email. However, if you want to receive communications, but only through specific channels, you can just disable the others.
5.8.6 We will only contact you by electronic means and inform about products and ser-vices that are similar to those which were the subject to a previous sale to you. Such a processing is based on the legitimate interest. If you do not want us to use your Personal Data for the purpose of direct marketing, please click an unsubscribe link in your email at any time.
5.9 Personalisation of content across Vorwerk products and related services
5.9.1 In case you would like to receive personalized content across the Vorwerk products and related services (i.e. local Vorwerk websites and apps, Vorwerk devices), you can find the exact wording of your consent declaration under Account | Data us-age.
5.9.2 The following data will be collected in case you have given the personalisation consent:
5.9.3 The foregoing data will be used for the following purposes:
5.9.4 In case you have given your consent to personalisation already during the pur-chasing process of the Thermomix®, you do not need to provide your consent again on Cookidoo®, and the status of the consent and the exact wording of your consent declaration is visible also on the Platform under Account | Data usage.
5.9.5 You can withdraw your consent at any time by changing your privacy settings in your account on the Platform. For that purpose, go to “Data Usage” listed in the “Account” and move the bar to withdraw permission. Withdrawal of consent does not affect either the use of the Platform or of the Thermomix®.
5.9.6 In case of using TM5 you can find the exact wording of your consent declaration under Settings | Privacy | Diagnostics.
5.9.7 When using the TM5 device you can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by changing your privacy settings on the Thermomix® in the settings menu Settings | Privacy | Diagnostics and usage on the Thermomix®. In addition, to with-draw your consent effectively when using the TM5 device, it is necessary that you successfully synchronize your Thermomix® with Cookidoo® after changing the set-tings.
6.1 We may partner with ad networks and other ad serving providers (“Advertising Providers”) that serve ads on behalf of us and others on non-affiliated platforms. Some of those ads may be personalized, meaning that they are intended to be relevant to you based on information Advertising Providers collect about your use of the Platform and other websites or apps over time, including information about relationships among different browsers and devices. This type of advertising is known as interest-based advertising.
6.2 You may visit the DAA Webchoices tool at www.aboutads.info to learn more about this type of advertising and how to opt out of this advertising on websites by com-panies participating in the DAA self-regulatory program. You can also exercise choices regarding interest-based advertising on your mobile device by downloading the appropriate version of the DAA’s AppChoices tool at https://youradchoices.com/appchoices.
6.3 If you delete your cookies or use a different browser or mobile device, you may need to renew your opt-out choices exercised through the DAA Webchoices tool. Note that electing to opt out will not stop advertising from appearing in your brows-er or applications. It may make the ads you see less relevant to your interests.
6.4 We may also work with third parties that collect data about your use of the Platform and other websites or apps over time for non-advertising purposes. Vorwerk uses these third parties’ services to improve the performance of the Platform and for analytics and marketing purposes.
6.5 Additionally, your browser may offer tools to limit the use of cookies or to delete cookies; however, if you use these tools, the Platform may not function as intend-ed. To learn more about our use of cookies, please see the “Cookies” section of this Privacy Policy.
7.1 We use cookies on the Platform to give you the best user experience when visiting it. Cookies are sets of data which are stored by your web browser, and which con-tain data.
7.2 Please find information on the use of cookies in our Cookie Policy, which can be accessed through a link that can be found in the footer of our webpages or the Cookie banner.
8.1 We share Personal Data with service providers that act on our behalf and support us in performing the business relationship with you and in providing services to you. The following types of providers are involved:
8.2 These service providers are contractually bound to confidentiality and are mandat-ed to comply with the list of technical and organizational measures, including i) in-formation security management ii) information security risk assessment iii) infor-mation security measures (e.g. physical controls, logical access controls, malware protection, data encryption measures, backup and recovery management measures).
8.3 The service providers listed above in the policy may be located outside of the Unit-ed States. We only transfer your Personal Data to countries which are considered to provide an adequate level of data protection. We may disclose Personal Data to public authorities, regulators or governmental bodies, courts, where we are required to disclose information by applicable law or regulation, under a code of practice or conduct, at their request, or to safeguard our legitimate interests.
Residents of the European Economic Area (“EEA”), United Kingdom (“UK”), and Switzerland have rights with respect to the Personal Data collected by us. You are able to exercise the following rights regarding Personal Data, subject to certain exceptions and limitations.
9.1 Right of access
You have the right to request confirmation as to whether Vorwerk processes your Personal Data and, where that is the case, that Vorwerk provides you with access to, and information on the data stored by Vorwerk regarding your person or your pseudonym.
9.2 Right to rectification
You have a right in respect of the correction of data in case your Personal Data collected is inaccurate.
9.3 Right to restriction of data processing
You have the right to obtain a restriction of processing under certain circumstanc-es. Such circumstance may be, e.g., when you think that your Personal Data is not accurate or if we do not need the Personal Data for the original purpose of the processing, but you need us to keep such data for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
9.4 Right to data portability
Under certain circumstances, you have the right to receive the Personal Data you have provided us with, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable for-mat, and you have the right to transmit that information to another controller with-out hindrance or ask us to do so.
9.5 Right to objection to processing
You have the right to object to the processing of your Personal Data under cer-tain circumstances if we process your Personal Data on the legal basis of le-gitimate interests or if we use your Personal Data for marketing purposes.
9.6 How can you exercise these rights?
For questions about the right of access, right to rectification, right to restriction of data processing, right to objection to data processing and right to data portability, please contact the data protection officer under compliance@thermomix.us.
9.7 Right to erasure
9.7.1 You may use a self- service functionality to delete your Cookidoo® account, by clicking on your Account’s “Delete account” tab. After clicking again the “Delete ac-count” button, your deletion request will be forwarded to us, and the account will be deleted. You will no longer be able to use or log into Cookidoo®.
9.7.2 In both cases, the account deletion is not reversible and means all your settings, created content, purchased content and active subscriptions will be deleted and cannot be restored.
9.7.3 You can furthermore delete the following data:
9.8 Right to withdraw consent
9.8.1 You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by changing your privacy settings in your account on the Platform. For that purpose, go to “Data Usage” listed in the “Account” and move the bar to withdraw permission. Withdrawal of con-sent does not affect either the use of the Platform or use of the Thermomix® and does not affect the lawfulness of data processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
9.8.2 In case you do not want to receive e-mail marketing communication you may also withdraw your consent by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link in the footer of the mar-keting e-mail you have received from us.
10.1.1 You have the right to lodge a complaint with the applicable regulator.
10.1.2 If you are not satisfied with any aspect of data processing of your Personal Data by Vorwerk, we would like to understand and discuss it with you and learn how can we improve the situation. Please feel free to contact the Data Protection Officer under compliance@thermomix.us. Nonetheless, you may submit a complaint to the local data protection supervisory authority.
Residents of certain states have various rights under state privacy laws with respect to “per-sonal information” or “personal data” we collect, as defined by applicable law (collectively, “personal information”). This State Privacy Rights section (“State Rights section”) supple-ments the information contained in our Privacy Policy above and applies solely to visitors, users, and other consumers who reside in states with privacy laws that afford the rights de-scribed below (“consumers” or “you”). In the case of California, this State Rights section also applies to individuals interacting with Vorwerk as a representative of a business. This State Rights section contains disclosures required by state privacy laws and explains the rights that may be available to you.
This State Rights section does not apply to information that is not subject to state privacy laws.

11.3.1 We disclose the categories of personal information designated above to the cate-gories of third parties listed in the “Who has access to Personal Data and with whom are they shared? “ section of this Privacy Policy for business purposes. We also disclose personal information (including certain personal and online identifiers, online activity and browsing data, and inferences) to advertising companies and networks and social media companies for commercial purposes such as targeted advertising.
11.4 Our purposes for processing personal information
11.4.1 We use and disclose the personal information we collect for our commercial and business purposes, as further described above in the “For which purposes do we process Personal Data?” section of this Privacy Policy.
11.4.2 We may use and share aggregated and deidentified information to the extent per-mitted by applicable law. When we use deidentified information, we maintain and use the information in deidentified form and do not attempt to reidentify it, except to check whether our deidentification processes satisfy the requirements of appli-cable law.
11.5 Your rights and choices
Residents of certain states may have rights with respect to certain personal information col-lected by Vorwerk. If you are a resident of one of these states, you may be able exercise the rights we describe below, subject to certain exceptions and limitations. Please note that for some rights, we may not be able to fulfil your request if we are unable to verify your iden-tity.
11.5.1 Access Rights.
You may have the right to confirm whether Vorwerk is processing personal information about you and, in some states, to obtain the categories of personal information we process. Residents of certain states may have the right to obtain the categories of third parties to which we disclosed your personal information. Additionally, in some states you may have the right to obtain a list of the third parties (other than processors) to which we disclosed personal information.
For California residents, you may have the right to request additional information about our collection and use of your personal information, including:
11.5.2 Data Portability Rights.
You may have the right to obtain a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format.
11.5.3 Correction Rights.
You may have the right to request we modify or correct the personal information that we collected from or about you.
11.5.4 Deletion Rights.
You may have the right to request that we delete personal information that we collected from or about you. Please see Section 9.7 of this Privacy Policy above on the “Right to erasure” for more information on how to exercise deletion rights.
11.5.5 Sensitive Personal Information.
You may have the right to withdraw consent for our processing of certain “sensitive” person-al information. Please note that Vorwerk does not use sensitive personal information for any purposes that require an opt-out under California law.
11.5.6 Opt-Out Rights.
Vorwerk does not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary consideration. However, we may process and share your personal information with parties for targeted advertising (also known as cross-context behavioral advertising), and in some states this may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. You may opt out of these activities as described below. Please note that, if you opt out of certain practices, we may be unable to provide you with some services.
Note that we do not knowingly collect or sell the personal information of minors under the age of 16, nor do we process or share such information for targeted advertising.
11.5.7 Non-Discrimination Rights.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
11.6 Exercising rights
11.6.1 To exercise any of the above rights, please contact us using the following infor-mation and submit the required verifying information, as further described below:
11.7 Appeals
11.7.1 For residents of certain states, if we have denied your request and you believe we have made a mistake, you may contact us to appeal our decision via email at ser-vice@thermomix.us with the subject line “State Rights Request – Appeal.”
11.8 Verification Process and Required Information
11.8.1 In some cases, we may need to request additional information from you to verify your identity or understand the scope of your request. You will not be required to create an account with us to submit a request or have it fulfilled. We will require you to provide, at a minimum, your name and email address. Depending on the na-ture of your request, however, additional information may be required.
11.9 Authorized Agent
11.9.1 You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. In order to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, you must provide the agent with signed permission to do so and provide proof of your identity, or the agent must have a valid power of attorney. An authorized agent can make a request on your behalf through one of the submission methods noted above. In order for us to process the request, the authorized agent will be required to provide evidence of signed permission and your e-mail address to verify your identity, or proof of valid power of attorney.
11.10 Retention
11.10.1 For our data retention practices, please see Section 13 of this Privacy Policy below.
11.11 Opt-out preference signals, global privacy controls (“GPCs”), or universal opt-out mechanisms (“UOOMs”).
12.1 At Vorwerk we have implemented adequate technical and organisational measures to help protect your Personal Data and help prevent accidental or unlawful destruc-tion, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, or access and safeguard against all other unlawful forms of processing.
12.2 All Vorwerk employees accessing Personal data must comply with internal policies and processes that ensure secure and confidential processing of Personal Data.
13.1 Vorwerk stores your Personal Data for as long as you decide to use your account registered on the Platform to provide our services to you and to enable you to use the Platform. Therefore, we delete Personal Data as soon as you decide not to keep your account on the Platform. In case your account has been inactive for 2 years since the last login to the Platform, we will automatically delete your account. The deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
13.2 In case the processing is based on consent, and you withdraw your consent, Vor-werk will delete or anonymize your Personal Data without undue delay after the withdrawal of consent.
13.3 Vorwerk must store some Personal Data in the archive mode, for the purpose of compliance with tax and accounting obligations, for the maximum of 10 years start-ing after the last purchased subscription. This means that the access to this Per-sonal Data is strictly limited to those persons who might need access to comply with the legal obligation.
13.4 The criteria Vorwerk uses to determine the periods for retaining your Personal Data include the retention requirements under applicable laws, regulations, and our op-erational requirements, such as account maintenance, enabling customer relation-ship management and responding to legal claims, complaints, and regulatory and law enforcement requests.
This Privacy Policy was updated in March 2025. We reserve the right to amend the policy from time to time in case there are any changes to data processing. In case the Privacy Policy has been updated, we will take steps to inform you of the update by appropriate means, such as through a notification shown when logging on to your account or other means in case, they are more suitable (e.g. e-mail).
