  • 800 g gravy beef, trimmed and cut into pieces (3 cm)
  • 170 g red onion, cut into wedges (3-4 cm)

  • 70 g celery, cut into slices (5 mm -1 cm)
  • 80 g red capsicum, deseeded and cut in pieces (2 cm)
  • ¾ - 1 tsp hot paprika, to taste
  • 600 g water
  • 30 g tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Beef stock paste (see Tips)
  • 4 allspice berries
  • 2 dried bay leaves
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • ¼ - ¾ tsp ground black pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 500 g gnocchi (see Tips)
  • fresh flat-leaf parsley, leaves only, chopped, to serve
