Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 200 g carrots, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 - 2 sprigs parsley, fresh (only the leaves)
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 g milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch nutmeg, ground
  • 1 pinch cinnamon, ground
  • 1 pinch black pepper, ground
  • 500 g mixed minced meat, (250 g of beef and 250 g of pork)
  • 50 g pine nuts (optional)
  • 20 g olive oil (to grease the tray)
  • flour (for batter)

Spanish sauce

  • 250 g onion, cut in quarters
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 50 g extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp tomato purée (optional)
  • 100 g white wine
  • 300 g water
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch nutmeg, ground
  • 1 pinch pepper, ground
  • 1 tbsp beef extract
  • 1 pinch cloves, ground
  • 1 tbsp parsley, fresh, chopped
