Ingredients

Meatballs, Rice and Peppers

  • 1 shallot, halved
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ½ bread roll, stale, soaked in water then squeezed out
  • 600 g beef mince, broken in pieces
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp fine sea salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp dried marjoram
    or dried oregano
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1200 g water
  • 250 g long grain rice
  • 600 g mixed peppers, cut in strips (1 cm)

Curry Sauce

  • 40 g unsalted butter, soft
  • 40 g plain flour
  • 1 vegetable stock cube (for 0.5 l)
  • 2 tsp curry powder
  • 2 pinches ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 10 g lemon juice
  • 50 g double cream
  • 50 g milk
