Ingredients

  • 15 g peanut oil
    or sunflower oil
  • 600 g stewing steak, cut in pieces (3 cm)
  • 5 - 10 g fresh root ginger, finely chopped, to taste
  • 15 g maple syrup
  • 70 g rice wine
    or white wine
  • 100 g soy sauce
  • 80 g water
  • 10 g rice vinegar
  • ¼ tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 3 star anise (see tip)
  • 200 g red peppers (approx. 1 large or 2 small)
  • 100 g fresh shiitake mushrooms
    or mixed fresh mushrooms
  • 300 g broccoli florets
  • 1 spring onion
  • 2 garlic clove
  • 1 ½ tsp cornflour, mixed with 1½ Tbsp water
  • 10 g fresh coriander leaves, roughly chopped
  • sesame seeds, for garnishing
