  • 150 g unsalted butter, softened, plus extra to grease
  • 350 g ripe bananas (approx. 4 bananas), cut into pieces
  • 150 g soft dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 170 g plain flour
  • 30 g cornflour
  • 2 tbsp black cocoa powder (see Tips)
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 100 g black tahini (see Tips)
  • 2 tsp natural vanilla extract
  • black sesame seeds, to sprinkle (optional)

Ricotta cream (optional)

  • 20 g sugar
  • 250 g smooth ricotta cheese
  • 50 g Greek-style natural yoghurt
  • 1 tsp natural vanilla extract
