  • 50 g onion, halved
  • 20 g oil
  • 75 g bacon cubes (1-2 cm) (optional)
  • 160 g risotto rice, e.g Canaroli, Arborio
  • 390 g water
  • 20 g light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp chicken stock paste
    or ½ chicken stock cube (for 0.5 l) (see Variation)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground white pepper
  • 15 g butter
  • spring onions, sliced, for garnishing
  • sesame seeds, any colour, for sprinkling
