Ready to Spark Up the Grill

Make It Better with Beer

Cold barley-based drinks are a perfect choice for summer, offering a refreshing taste while pairing beautifully with your meal. From rustic farmhouse ales to rich Belgian styles, beer can elevate the flavors of food and also works as a remarkably versatile ingredient in the kitchen.

Beer Pairing Tips

Grilling 101

- Grill Prep: Before adding anything to the grill, clean it thoroughly to remove any stuck-on residue. Brush the grates with a grill brush, or heat the grill to a high temperature and rub the cut side of a peeled onion half over the grates using a fork. As the onion releases its juices, it creates steam that helps loosen burnt bits and charred debris.

- Pre-heating: Start your grilling adventure with a hot grill by preheating it for at least 10 minutes before you start cooking.
- The Right Temp: Grills can flare up fast, so be sure to use indirect heat on foods that take more than 20 minutes, and direct heat for anything under 20 minutes.
- Burgers: A trick to help your patties cook evenly and keep them from shrinking is to press a small indentation into the center of each burger with a spoon.
- Veggies: Always give your veggies a light coating of olive oil before cooking to prevent them from burning and sticking to the grill.
- Sauces: When adding sauces to your meat while grilling, apply it closer to the end of grilling time to avoid drying out.
- Resting: The most critical step to keep your meat tender and juicy is to let it rest for at least 7-10 minutes so the juices have time to redistribute and seep thoroughly back into the meat.

Spice Up Your Sides

Grilling gives side dishes added complexity, enhancing the texture and natural sweetness of vegetables while bringing deeper flavor to potatoes and fruit. They also retain valuable nutrients and offer plenty of fiber, making them a wholesome choice for summer. To round out the meal, classic cool sides like macaroni salad, deviled eggs, and coleslaw are always a welcome addition.

Get Saucy

Marinades and sauces will take your meat to the next level, infusing them with rich flavors and a sweet or peppery kick. You can either marinate them overnight, brush them on at the end of grilling, or serve as a dipping sauce to saturate every bite. A drizzle of sauce can also enhance your veggies and bring your side dishes to life.
