Ingredients

  • 10 sprigs fresh coriander, cut in pieces
  • 150 g leeks, cut in pieces
  • 120 g celery, cut in pieces
  • 100 g carrots, cut in pieces
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 ½ - 2 tsp ground coriander, to taste
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 2 - 3 Tbsp harissa sauce, to taste
  • 500 g water
  • 800 g tinned chopped tomatoes
  • 85 g dried green lentils
  • 2 tsp chicken stock paste
    or 2 chicken stock cube (for 0.5 l)
  • 1 Tbsp golden caster sugar
  • 10 g freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 4 chicken thighs, boneless and skinless (approx. 400 g), cut in pieces (2 cm)
    or 400 g chicken breast fillets, skinless, cut in pieces (2 cm)
  • 8 slices white bread
  • 200 g plain yoghurt
