Ingredients

  • 5 oz dried green lentils
    or 5 oz dried brown lentils
  • 32 oz water, divided
  • 2 oz fine sea salt, plus ¼ tsp, to taste, divided
  • 5 oz cremini mushrooms, halved
  • 3 oz yellow onions, quartered (approx. ½ medium onion)
  • 2 oz carrots, cut into pieces (approx. 1 carrot)
  • 2 oz celery, cut into pieces (approx. 2 stalks)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 oz olive oil
  • 1 oz bread crumbs
  • 3 oz old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 oz brown rice flour
  • 1 oz sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 pinch dried red chili flakes
  • 1 heaping tsp vegetable stock paste
  • 4 ½ oz ketchup
  • 1 oz balsamic vinegar
  • ½ oz maple syrup
