  • 1 oz mirin
    or 1 oz rice wine vinegar
  • 14 oz water
  • 3 oz brown sugar
  • ½ oz sesame oil
  • ½ in. fresh ginger
    or ½ tsp ground ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 8 oz white rice, medium-grain
  • 3 oz frozen edamame
    or 3 oz frozen peas and carrots
  • 3 large eggs
  • salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 carrot, to garnish
  • green onions, sliced to garnish
  • toasted sesame seeds, to garnish
